Lowell “Ace” Cadel

Lowel (Ace) Caddel, owner of a coin machine company in Lubbock, bowled a perfect game, 12 consecutive strikes, for a 300 score, at A-1 Lanes in Abernathy Thursday, June 25, at about 2:30 p.m. It was the first 300 game bowled at A-1 Lanes since it opened early last month. Also, it was the first 300 game Cad-del ever bowled. His previous high scores, during the 14 years he has been bowling, were 298, bowled some months ago at Lamesa bowling place, and a 289 game at A-1 Lanes on June 22. His average in league play is 206. When Caddel hit the 300 game, he was bowling with ted Wayne Watts of Abernathy and Sam Hawks and Herb Neughbauer, both of Lubbock. Tom Snider of Lubbock was scorekeeper for the game. Caddel is shown holding the score shsset that has his 300 game. Caddel was in charge of the Grand Opening Tournament held Saturday at A-1 Lanes. He was manager of Q.C. Bowl in Lubbock for 18 months before going to Lamesa as a partner in a bowling place, later returning to Lubbock. Caddel mar-ried a granddaughter of Mrs. Gid B. Adkisson, Sr., and Mrs. C.E. Williams, both of Abernathy.
